One of the famous attractions of Istanbul – the Hagia Sofya Mosque was visited by more than 13.6 million people in 2022. This was announced on social networks by the Governor of Istanbul, Ali Yerlikaya.
The governor praised the initiative to restore the mosque’s status, “made possible by the historic signature of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.”
“The legacy of Sultan Mehmet Fatih, the attraction of the Turkish metropolis – Hagia Sophia was visited by 13 million 656 thousand 229 people in 2022,” the governor wrote.
