The sights of the famous tourist region of Anatolia – Cappadocia in January-August of this year were visited by 3 million 53 thousand 827 local and foreign tourists. This data is provided by the administration of the governor of the Turkish province of Nevsehir.

Cappadocia is famous for its unique natural landscape, including the Peribajalari (“Fairy Fireplaces”) valley, ancient rock monasteries, the underground cities of Derinkuyu and Kaymakli. In the open air museum – Goreme you can take flights in hot air balloons. The region is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.

The most visited attraction during the period under review was the Hadzhibektaş Museum, which received 285,200 visitors. This is followed by the ruins at Zelva with 109,014 visitors and the Goreme Open Air Museum with 100,565.

In the same period in 2022, the sights of Cappadocia were visited by 2 million 544 thousand 909 local and foreign tourists.
