In Turkish Kusadasi will create a “Martian colony” for tourists. This is reported by the Sabah news outlet.

The Martian colony in the Kusadasi region of Turkey’s Aegean province of Aydın will include educational demonstrations of research work on Mars, as well as an astronaut training school and a simulator.

Noting the changes in the tourism industry, Kusadasi District Mayor Omer Gunel said unusual tourist attractions are becoming more preferred by young people, offering experiences and opportunities for discovery.

According to him, municipal land is currently allocated for the construction of a thematic project “Martian colony”, which will also house a science theme park and 30 boutique hotels. He added that the “astronaut menu” on the Martian colony is expected to breathe new life into food tourism as well.

Gunel believes that this project will add value to the city, contribute to the tourism industry and inspire the whole world.

According to Gunel, the cost of creating the project will be 20-30 million liras ($2.4-3.6 million).
