Turkey ranked 112th out of 146 countries in the 2022 World Happiness Report, down eight places from last year.
Based on an analysis of responses polled by research company Gallup around the world, Turkey was ranked 104th last year in the report.
Turkey experienced its worst inflation rate in two decades when its annual inflation jumped to a record high of 54.4% in February this year, following a year marked by a currency crash.
The list was compiled based on criteria including per capita income, freedom, health care, social support, corruption, education, and purchasing power.
While Finland ranked first on the list of the happiest people, Afghanistan, where the Taliban took power last August, came in last.
