The oldest tree in Turkey, existing since the Bronze Age, attracts the attention of tourists.
According to the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization of the country, the yew tree growing in Zonguldag can survive for another four millennia.
The age of the yew today is 4115 years.
βThe age of the oldest tree was determined by specialists from the Technical University. Its height is 23 meters,β the ministry added.
Recall that 9369 monumental trees are registered in Turkey. For example, the tallest tree is in the Black Sea province of Gumushane (55 meters), while the widest tree is in the northern province of Kastamonu, with a trunk diameter of 8.8 meters.
