About Galleria Shopping Mall

Galleria Ataköy is the first modern and huge shopping mall of Turkey. It was inspired by the shopping mall Houston Galleria in Houston, Texas, USA.

During a USA visit, ofTurgut Özal(one of the old Turkish Prime Minister’s), he is inspired and planned to build a Galleria-Houston like shopping mall in Turkey. Later on, Galleria Ataköy was opened in 1988. Galleria was a milestone for shopping habits in Turkey. After the opening of Galleria, Turkey became a center of shopping malls in Europe and many new huge shopping malls opened incessantly. Today, there are 450 huge shopping malls in Turkey.

Galleria has 140 stores on two floors an average of 1.2 million visitors monthly. Many famous brands are also located inside the mall.
